Michelle Sypula Studio Owner My name is Michelle Sypula and I am the owner/director of P & P Dance Centre. My hope is that your children will grow and learn to love the art of dance as much as I do. I have been dancing since the age of 6 studying tap, jazz, ballet and gymnastics. I began my teaching career at the age of 15 and have never looked back. I am a certified Cecchetti ballet teacher and am a member of the Cecchetti Council of America and Dance Masters of America.

Carman Richinson Competitive Director Miss Carman brings over 20 years of dance experience to the dance studio. She’s been dancing since the age of three, studying in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern and lyrical. She studied ballet for 8 years under Marjorie Randazzo before deciding that she wanted to do more with her dancing. She then came here to P&P Dance Centre where she studied under the direction of Owner/Director Michelle Sypula. Carman was also a competitive dancer here at P&P Dance Centre for 5 years in which she won many regional and national awards as well as becoming student certified in the Cechetti Ballet Method. In 2000, Carman went off to Eastern Michigan University where was a dance major and was also a member of the EMU Dance Team for 3 years. She’s also worked with many award winning and well known choreographers such as Mia Micheals, Tyce Diorio, Frank Hatchett and members of the Pilobolus Dance Company. In March 08 she completed her Grade One and Two Teacher Certification in the Cechetti Ballet Method and in May 08 she got to take classes with some pretty popular dancers from the hit dance show So You Think You Can Dance such as Travis Wall, Danny Tidwell and Ivan Koumaev. Over the years, Ms. Carman’s students have also walked away with many top awards such as top soloist and top group at regional and national competitions all over the country.Recently Miss Carman decided to take a different path in life by deciding to go into nursing school. In August 2008 she became a certified nurse’s aide in the state of Michigan and hopes that after she graduates from nursing school in May of 2011, that she’ll become a pediatrics nurse because she has and always will enjoy working with children. Miss Carman hopes to share her passion and enthusiasm for dance with her students for many years to come!

Marsha Harkai Ballet Instructor I began dancing as an adult, age 29, studying at Sherry’s Academy of Dance. Presently, I am a Certified Grade I and Grade II Cecchetti Teacher and have taken four Cecchetti student examinations. I have been teaching for 24 years, children to adult. Eleven years of teaching at Sherry’s Academy of Dance while teaching at various places such as X-Cel Gymnastics, Janet’s School of Dance, Susie’s Dance Pointe and Shearrers’ Arts in Motion, two years as a substitute teacher for Dance Electric and nine years at P&P Dance Centre. My 27 years of dance education include ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz and tap with Sherry Blaha, Danielle Kampsen, Lori Asmenn, Bruce Bristol, Virginia Butzlaff, Betty Bandyk, Gail Choate-Pettit, Marcia Aller and Michelle Sypula. I have also attended Masters of Dance classes with Joe Tremain; Dance Educators of America; Dance Olympus and Showbiz Nationals. Competing solo lyrical and duet tap in my late 30’s. I have done some modeling for Kmarts womens apparel, photography modeling and Master of Ceremonies at several festivals.

Lynn Balogh Recreational/Competitive Instructor Has been dancing since a very young age. Was excepted to the Performing Arts Dance Theater at the age of 10, when she started her competitive dancing in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop. When she was 11 years old she was cast as a guest dancer for the professional company Jazz Dance Theater out of Ann Arbor,MI. After graduating High School she moved out to Los Angeles, CA were she was a scholarship student at Tremaine Dance Center. There she studied under such teachers as, Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Marguerite Derricks and Wade Robson, just to name a few. Upon moving back to MI she proceeded with her college education, focusing on a degree in design, she still stayed active in the performing arts. Performing in Gypsy and Guys and Dolls through Washtenaw Community College Performing Arts Department. In 2005 she graduated with an Associates Degree in Multimedia from ITT Technical Institute. All the while teaching for various studios in the Washtenaw and Wayne County Area. But she has finally found her home with P & P!

Caitlyn McCain Recreational/Competitive Instructor Caitlyn McCain began her dancing career at P&P Dance Centre at the age of three. She quickly discovered a passion for the art and joined the competitive dance program. Since then she has been trained in the Cecchetti method of ballet: Grades 1-6, pointe, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, tap, contemporary, modern, and acrobatics. During her competitive experience, Caitlyn was honored with many overall and scholarship awards. These gave her the opportunity to work with established teachers and up-and-coming choreographers, such as: Mandy Moore, Ellen Werksman, Greg Russell, and Densil Adams. In 2007, she began her teaching career and discovered a whole new passion for the art. She has since trained many regional and national overall winners, title holders, and scholarship recipients. Many of her students have been seen in dance DVD's, multiple costume catalogues, dance fashion shows, and company performances. Caitlyn has also been honored with multiple awards for solo and group choreography, many of which have come from prestigious dance organization, such as: American Dance Awards and Cathy Roe's Ultimate Dance. She has recently been certified in the genres of Acrobatics and Ballet by the Dance Masters of Michigan, and she is planning on continuing her education to provide the best possible training for her students. In addition to her dancing career, Caitlyn is also a full time college student at the University of Michigan. She is currently working towards her Bachelor's Degree in the field of Chemistry and will be attending graduate school to obtain her PhD in the near future.

Tiffany Browning Zumba Instructor
Hi, I'm Tiffany Browning and I love teaching Zumba classes. The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! Come join me and you'll see what I mean. You don't even have to know how to dance. Just move your body and follow my lead. It's easy! I have a passion for dance and have taught line dancing for several years before deciding to give Zumba a try. I haven't regretted it once.
